Chianti Classico DOCG Villa S. Andrea is crafted mainly from Sangiovese grapes grown in the vineyards of our estate—a Tuscan wine that captures the most authentic nuances of tradition, born from production methods that honor the purest essence of the land.
The grapes, hand-selected to ensure the highest quality, undergo medium-to-long maceration to enhance their aromas and character. Vinification takes place at a controlled temperature, a process that yields a Tuscan red wine with an intense ruby-red color that, with age, develops garnet reflections—a promise of depth and maturity.
The aroma of this Chianti Classico ranges from fruity to spicy, offering the palate a refined and intriguing bouquet.
Grapes: Sangiovese, Merlot
Production Area: Production in-house
Soil: The vineyards producing this wine are located on hills at 250–300 meters above sea level, with excellent exposure, on galestro soils. The vines are trained using the spur-pruned cordon system, and yields may be reduced through thinning to obtain grapes with optimal winemaking characteristics.
Production Technique: The grapes, hand-harvested at perfect ripeness, are taken to the winery where fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 26–28 °C, with extended skin contact to preserve aromas and achieve color and structure. The wine is then aged in 35-hectoliter French oak casks for at least 12 months, a stage that enhances all its organoleptic characteristics. Finally, it is refined in the bottle for 6 months.
